Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has said the North West Regional College (NWRC) can act as a showcase for the benefits of European integration and funding.
Speaking after attending the College’s ‘NWRC in Europe’ event where she presented certificates to students, Ms Anderson said;
“The North West Regional College is a fantastic example of an institution making the most of the opportunities of Europe.
“The College is fully immersed in European programmes with students participating in the Erasmus and Leonardo programmes, taking up the opportunities to study in various European cities.
“NWRC College also attracts students from right across Europe and at today’s event I was delighted to meet students from Denmark, Finland and Germany who have come to Derry to study.
“These opportunities not only enrich the lives and education of our young people, but also provide a great boost to our city in terms of European funding.
“The North West Regional College is really an asset for the city, particularly in terms of its impressive level of engagement with Europe and its ability to tap into funding streams.
“If any businesses or community organisations are looking for an example of the benefits of European engagement then they need look no further that the North West Regional College.”
