Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has said future infrastructure developments could be jeopardised as a result of Brexit.
Martina Anderson said:
“The north has benefitted hugely from European Union funding to help develop our transport infrastructure network.
“I welcome the fact that the Special European Union Programmes Body (SEUPB) has approved funding for the North West Transport Hub at the old Waterside railway station.
“We want to see more of these type of projects in the future but if the British Tory government succeeds in dragging us out of the EU then this type of funding will not be available.
“That, along with so many others things, is the impact of the British government’s Brexit agenda.
“Sinn Féin has put forward a case for the north to secure designated special status within the EU and we are working to build support for that across Ireland and across Europe.”
